#3 Common
Strip flooring is the most common category of flooring. Almost any species of wood can be produced as a strip floor. This material is milled to exact specifications in the most common widths of 2 ¼” and 3 ¼”. The boards are tongue and grooved, and usually between 1’ to 8’ lengths, with an average length of 4 feet. This type of material is very cost effective and can be installed quickly and finished easily. While a single width is most common for a strip floor, a mix of widths can be very pleasing to the eye.
Strip flooring is graded by the variety of color and knots in the wood. This does not reflect the quality of the flooring, only the appearance. All grades of our strip flooring are milled from quality materials to provide a sturdy, beautiful floor for your home or office. A #3 grade floor is definitely for someone who wants a Rustic look to their floor. The color variety in a #3 floor is awesome! It will make sure your floor is noticed. This type of flooring contains many character marks and large knots, usually left unfilled to enhance the rustic appearance of your home or office. This can be a great choice for Mountain homes or Cabins.
